August 6, 2012 Donations details

On Saturday August 6th, 2011 we got all the quilts ready to donate by sewing our "Scraps to Treasure" labels onto the backs. We have about 60 ready to place into the hands of those who need them and will love them.

It is amazing what our little group produces. Every quilt is beautiful and so obviously full of love.

The quilts will go to the following organizations within the next couple of weeks:

- The Gabriel House is an outreach program committed to providing help to pregnant women in need and moms with newborns, and toddlers.

- Joshua Station helps families make the transformation from homelessness to a healthy, stable living environment

- Mountain Area Pregnancy Center provides a safe, confidential atmosphere for teens and families facing an unplanned pregnancy and offers support to families struggling to provide clothing and food for their children.

- Inner City Health Center strives to make a lasting difference for the medically disadvantaged.  Thousands of uninsured individuals and families come to Inner City Health Center from all across the Denver metro area for comprehensive, primary medical and dental care and receive the adult, pediatric and prenatal care.

- Dry Bones staff and volunteers are committed to serving the large population of homeless teens and young adults living in downtown Denver. The youth who live on the streets of Denver range in age from 12 into their mid-twenties. Dry Bones connects these young people with resources, nutrition, entertainment, and new friends.

Additionally, we are able to donate three quilts to "Feeding Many", an organization with one mission: eliminate hunger. They operate a Community Fruit Orchard and Community Garden located at 5890 South Alkire Street, Littleton, Colorado 80127.  This is the same facility where the “Scraps to Treasure” group sews and stores their quilt-making supplies.
